Care of fresh cut roses
The care of fresh cut roses is best done if you cut your roses when partly opened, preferably one days sunny afternoon. Do not cut more stem than You Need (unless the plant has grown too large), and to cut one – quarter inch over a five-part leaf.
Immediately after cutting you should condition for an hour or two before their use in an arrangement bouquet or corsage. Here's how you do this:
1 – First wash all the soil or spray residue with hot water, not cold, which is on the leaves and remove the lower leaves that will be below your water line in the mud.
2 – Scrap off the thorns below leaves with a sharp knife.
3 – Make a new highly oblique cut at the end of the stem and scrape a little bark off the lower inch or more. This helps the roses to absorb water.
4 – Place the roses in water temperature. Water must be deep enough to reach lower leaves.
5 – Stand container in a cool, projects, and in an hour or two the roses will be ready.
Roses are withered, or because they Are Not placed in the water fast enough or currents of air can generally be revived by this procedure:
Cut the bottom inch or more of the rod through. Make two scratches one to two inches long at the base. Place the scraped in hot water but not boiling, but a little too hot to hold your hand – and leave them in water until the water cools. Then, Place in cold water to the base of flowers. After an hour they should be fully recovered and strong enough for the organization.
Keep your bouquet or arrangement of direct heat and drafts. Add water and food have increased as necessary to keep the stems well immersed.

Dark red roses as the Carrousel, Chrysler Imperial, Crimson Glory, Nocturne and Miranda
Medium Red Roses such as Starfire, New Yorker and El Capitan
Light red or pink as Charlotte Armstrong, Montezuma, Tallyho and Red Radiance
Medium pink as Queen Elizabeth, Duet, Pink Favorite, Pink Peace and Show Girl
Light Pink such as First Love, Pink Princess, Picture and Radiance
Deep Yellow such as Lowell Thomas Gold and Glow
Medium yellow, like Eclipse, Burnaby, and at King's Buccaneer
Ransom
Light Yellow like McGredy's Yellow
White as the White Knight, June Bride, White Queen and Pedralbes
Orange and Orange Blend such as Sunset McGredy, Ms. Sam McGredy, Mojave, Aztec and Hawaii
Apricot Blend like Paramount
Mixture of yellow as the Peace Garden Party, Sutter Gold and Lady Elgin
Pink Blend such as Tiffany, President Herbert Hoover, Mission Bells, Confidence and Good News
There are several others. You should check your local garden center to see that grow best in your climate.
The care of fresh cut roses is not difficult to do and very rewarding.
