Mitsubishi 52725 tv will not power up or reset.?
After watching tv the other nite, we turned of the set as usual. The next day, the power light (green) was blinking fast and the tv wouldnt power up. The manual called for doing as system reset with the Pin Button on the front panel. Didnt work. even did the old unplug & plug in the tv – no go. Still have a fast blinking power light. A tv guy on Allexperts.com said its a bad DM module, but a local shop says dlp tvs dont have DM modules.
After reading various posts about Mitsubishi tv’s it looks like Im on my own here. Mitsubishi seems unwilling to offer any help with consumer problems like this. Since the TV is 4 years old, Im not inclined to spend a lot of money on it as the specs are already dated. Too bad, it was a good tv to this point. Is it worth fixing or am I just throwing my money away? Any help is appreciated.
This particular model does have a DM module. I would check your lamp before anything else though. If that’s not it, I have seen several of these with bad caps on the DM board . There are 4 1000mfd caps that become domed and lose their capacitance. replace all4 if this is the case and the set will probably be fixed. By the way, this module is NLA and can only be aquired as a chassis assy replacement. cost ~850
