Red or white – which is better for your health?
In my quest to learn more about wine, I always wondered what was better â € "Red wine or white, not only from a health standpoint, but also as regards the label as well.
Who is better for your health?
Research has shown that wine in moderation can reduce mortality in the areas of cardiovascular disease (up to 50%) and cancer (up to 24%). But how?
Alcohol
Alcohol consumed in moderation can reduce bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol (HDL), and may prevent blood clotting.
Antioxidants
The wine contains antioxidants that may reduce the ability of bad cholesterol from being deposited in the artery wall â € "reducing heart disease. antioximdants These allow also reduce the damage caused by toxins in the body (free radicals) which is linked to degenerative diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
When the grapes are turned into wine, it increases the antioxidant levels and production of alcohol â € "containing antioxidants and take a lot more like the extract of grape concentrate.
Research shows that red wine contains more antioxidants than white wine â € "but the amount varies depending on things like the type of grape, region, climate, soil, woodland and wine (wine woodland have more antioxidants than wine unoaked).
Research also shows that while red wine May contain more antioxidants, There are different types of antioxidants € ~ â € ™ moleculesâ and antioxidants in white wine has actually increased the effects health benefits than those found in red.
So in summary, even though red wine contains more antioxidants, white WINEA € ™ s antioxidants are better for health â € "and the research states that both red and white wine are similar as regards the benefits health.
French paradox
French Paradox The saying has been obtained by observing that the research French have less heart disease than other parts of the world, despite a diet rich in saturated fats. It is believed that the reason was the French High consumption of red wine. Interesting!
